OCAS Launches First Phase of International Application Service
GUELPH, ON, May 11, 2017 – OCAS, a Guelph-based organization delivering shared technology and application services for Ontario’s public colleges, has announced the launch of their new International Application Service (IAS) – a portal designed to streamline and centralize international application and admissions processes for Ontario’s public colleges.
“Colleges are experiencing year-over-year growth in international enrolment, and in the wake of global uncertainty and recent geo-political events, Ontario continues to be a premiere destination of choice for international students,” says Karen Creditor, Chief Executive Officer of OCAS. “As a leading provider of technology solutions for Ontario’s public colleges, we’re ready to help our college partners meet that demand with this new opt-in service.”
With the OCAS IAS, college admissions officers and global recruiters have the ability to efficiently review and manage applications, documents, and offers for international students. The easy-to-navigate dashboard allows users to quickly view the status of applications, search for and filter applicants, and manage program intakes, all in one convenient location.
“The new OCAS IAS has allowed us to move our international admissions processes from a manual effort into a convenient, secure, automated solution,” says Miriam Wall, Dean of International Education at Confederation College, system development partner and the first college to go live. “This service is going to make a huge difference in our offer turnaround time and in our overall customer service.”
The College Portal is the first of three fully integrated IAS modules, with Agent and Applicant Portals launching this fall. The Agent Portal will support international agents working on behalf of applicants overseas, and the Applicant Portal will allow independent applicants themselves to apply directly to Ontario’s public colleges.
The three portals will form an efficient, effective, and easy-to-use service that brings colleges, agents, and applicants together, providing automated offer and communications processes, secure data exchange, and data-rich analytics to help colleges save time and money, while significantly improving the speed and quality of service for applicants.
